Whether you’re a writer in need of relaxation and a good stretch, or a yoga practitioner yearning to write, these are the retreats for you.
Writing buddies Helena Pastor and Edwina Shaw have held their own private writing retreats at Evans Head since 2005 to relax and write and share their stories.
In 2017, for the first time they opened up their retreat to other women to do the same.
Since then the retreats have been so much fun that they’ve expanded to more locations and are held a few times every year.
Unfortunately, Helena’s other commitments have stopped her being able to attend.
Retreats are held a few times a year in a variety of beautiful locations. For participants’ reviews click HERE
On retreat you can relax, write and enjoy yourself in a beautiful setting with experienced workshop facilitators and published authors. Unwind with yoga and free your creative voice with lots of fun writing activities and workshops.
EDWINA SHAW has been teaching creative writing at the University of QLD and in the community since 2005. She’s also been teaching yoga for over 15 years, most recently to performance dance students at the Qld University of Technology. These days she combines them both in innovative workshops and retreats, designed to uplift the spirits and get those creative juices flowing. Her novel Thrill Seekers was shortlisted for the 2012 NSW Premier’s Award for New Writing and has recently been released as a new imprint through Raven Books UK. In 2016 she released In the Dark of Night – a chapter book for young readers. She has been teaching yoga and publishing her writing since 2002 and was awarded a Masters degree in Creative Writing from UQ in 2005. Recently she was awarded a Screen Queensland development grant for her screenplay “Dear Madman” which is now in development with a producer attached under the title “M”.
