Brisbane Writers Festival

As part of the festival’s In Your Suburb program I’m interviewing three different authors. All of these BWF events are FREE but be sure to register.

First is Miles Franklin winner Steven Carrol, author of The Year of the Beast at Newfarm Library on Friday 6 September at 3 pm. A gifted wordsmith we can all learn from.

Followed by Rosalie Hamm, author of The Dressmaker which was made into an award winning film, talking about her latest book The Year of the Farmer at Chermside Library on Friday 6 September at 6pm.

Then on Saturday 7 September at Mitchelton Library at 1pm, I’ll be interviewing Meg Keneally about her first solo publication Fled – based on the intriguing true story of a female highway robber/convict who escaped in a small boat with her two young children. Hurry! Tickets for this one are going fast.

Then I’m off to DUBBO! Yes DUBBO!

I’ll be running a FREE MEMOIR WORKSHOP at the Macquarie Regional Library in Dubbo on Tuesday 1 October from 10 – 12:30 Please let any writers in the district know.

And an

AUTHOR TALK also at the Macquarie Regional Library on Friday 4 October from 10 – 11am

Then back home for more events including a

FREE INTRODUCTION TO CREATIVE WRITING workshop at Fairfield Gardens Library on Saturday 2 November 10:30 -12 – You’ll need to book in for that one too, more details as I get them.

From Friday 8 to Sunday 10 November is my fabulous NANOWRIMO RETREAT. Places are filling very fast – with Early Bird prices ending 15 September. Book your spot now to avoid disappointment.

Retreats for next year are already booked in.

Relax and Write in the Mountains (Highfields near Toowoomba) March 27 – 29
